Underway on Nuclear Power! Siemens to Build an Atomic Charger

April 1, 2026 Siemens Mobility announced a partnership with Nova Atomics of Glenville, NY on building a nuclear-powered prototype variant of their Charger locomotive. Manufacturing will occur in Upstate New York in Glenville and Horseheads.

The Rhinecliff Station Platform and Interlocking Project

February 2, 2026 The slide presentation from NYSDOT on the status of the Rhinecliff station rehabilitation and new high-level platform has been publicly posted. The station building closed on December 9, 2022, for a two-year renovation including plumbing repairs, elevator replacement, and bathroom improvements.
